And cubes have 6 faces. multiply 6 by [tex]{ x }^{ 2 }[/tex], the formula is :[tex]6{ x }^{ 2 }[/tex]

cube=6 squares
square=2 equal sides
area of square=side^2
surface area of cube=6(area of square)=6side^2
side=x
SA=6x^2
